The Hills Musical Company was formed in 1972 to make use of the Stirling Institute which was now mostly an unused building. The HMC began performances in 1973 with our first production Kiss Me Kate, directed by Didy Pederick and John McGregor, with Leith Pederick as musical director.
Since then we have continued presenting two or more shows each year. We have our own theatre a short easy drive up the freeway through the Heysen tunnels. Our profits have created air conditioned comfort for the audience and great stage facilities. We offer a friendly welcome to cast, production team and backstage crew from all areas of the city. Auditions are friendly, open and held in a relaxed atmosphere and the ability to rehearse in the theatre is a valued bonus. Producers are invited to present their concepts to the committee.
We are proud of our high artistic tradition, the appreciation shown by our large audiences and the many cast members who have gone on to enter into the professional theatre.
