About The Adelaide Theatre Guide
The Adelaide Theatre Guide 'not for profit' organisation works to support all facets of theatre in South Australia, providing services for theatregoers (including listings of upcoming productions, and reviews of at least 90% of shows presented in Adelaide), theatrical companies, production teams and performers (including audition notices and classifieds), as well as travel agents in assisting tourists find shows to attend while in our city. The organisation also presents events in support of the South Australian theatre community, and supports all aspects of theatre, including the Adelaide Fringe, Adelaide Festival, and professional, community and amateur theatre events.
The Adelaide Theatre Guide website has been South Australia's comprehensive internet resource for live theatre since 1996 and is used extensively by local patrons and tourists alike. It has won numerous awards including an Advertiser Oscart for "Best and Most Useful Theatre Website". The website experiences in excess of 10,000 hits per day, and 15,000 visits per month.
Governance And Staffing
All of the ATG Reviewers are volunteers, having experience in media writing and live theatre, whether on stage, directing, behind the scenes or in production (sometimes all of these roles!). The management of the site is also undertaken by volunteers to aid in supporting this non-profit organisation. Details of the ATG governance can be found by clicking here.
A number of the ATG's services are free to any company performing in South Australia and every promoter is encouraged to submit information about their up-coming production to be included on the What's On, Auditions and Notices pages.
Additional advertising is available for a small fee, details of which can be found by visiting our advertising options page.
In addition to promotion via www.theatreguide.com.au, which is the main responsibility of the Adelaide Theatre Guide, the organisation has introduced a number of events to further promote live theatre to both audience members and promoters alike. These events include the ATG Awards and Gala dinner held for the first time on Saturday 23 July 2005.
