Created in 2006 by Amy and Rachelle Murphy-Higgins, Purr runs the monthly Perve, at La Boheme, a raucous celebration of chick comedy and music. She, a Community Cultural Development show for FEAST 2007, was described by The Advertiser as having “a dream-like quality and mesmorising eloquence”. Amy brings her national and international experience in performing and writing shows with a distinctive look at gender, saying that “we reveal the awfulness of both femininity and masculinity, dressing it in drag, and putting it to a phat beat”. Rachelle, after 3 years touring with Cirque du Soleil says “every woman is creative, that’s a big part of our ethos.
