“My only love sprung from my only hate”

Passion and the clash of swords fill the streets of Verona as the warring families of Montague and Capulet refuse to make peace, with tragic consequences for young Romeo and Juliet. The greatest love story of all time is also a tale of youthful rashness, revenge and rebellion. This production combines Renaissance Italy with Shakespeare’s universal themes of love, sex, violence and death!

The Theatre Guild welcomes the return of director Megan Dansie following her award winning productions of Richard III and The Pillowman. The Little Theatre stage will come alive with colour, movement and romance with the wit, drama, and poetic beauty of Shakespeare’s classic tale weaving its magic spell.
