A mysterious priestess will test the bond between two life-long friends in Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers at the Festival Theatre from May 12-19.

This classic tale of love, jealousy and temptation is presented by the State Opera of South Australia and accompanied by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

The impressive line-up of home-grown talent and guest performers includes Adelaide’s rising star Desiree Frahn – along with Grant Doyle, James Egglestone and Pelham Andrews.

This spectacular new production is directed by Michael Gow and conducted by Graham Abbott, with sets and costumes designed by Robert Kemp.

The Pearl Fishers is sung in French with English surtitles provided courtesy of the James & Diana Ramsay Foundation.

Approx. Running Time: 2hrs and 25 minutes with 25-minute interval
