Set in the prhibition days in Chicago in the 'roaring twenties', the staff and the customers of the sophisticated Ritzy's might-club are terrorised by the infamous Raffia gang, a bumbling and ineffective bunch of gangsters who want a piece of the action.
To further complicate matters, the Purity League ladies led by the dreaded Miss Fit, arrive on the scene to close down the bar for breaking the prohibition laws. This is of great concern to Ma Baker and her daughters Blossom and Petal, who supply the bar with moonshine liquor. When Nora, the owner of the bar is sent to prison by officer O'Riley, her daughter Lily takes over and immediately has quite an effect on the menfolk.
