Margot Buchanan is a witty ex-actress now living in a retiremant home, trying to forget her seventieth birthday.Years earlier she was with her ex-husband Sir Leo Buchanan famous for their portrayal of Romeo ad Juliet, and for this reason she is visited this day by Sadie Croft, a young actress who is to play Juliet who is also having an affair with Leo. Into this scene comes Lady Judy Buchanan, Leo's current wife, who gets an icy reception as Margot considers she was the one who caused the breakup of her marriage. The next to arive is Leo himself seeking refuge from a tabloid reported, but unfortunately he suffers a fatal heart attack. When Leo's ghost appears the scene is set for both chaos and hilarity as he tries to sort out matters between his three women while not being visible to them.
