Adapted by Willis Hall
Directed By: Megan Dansie

While having retained all the familiar and passionate qualities of Charlotte Bronte’s novel, Willis Hall has transposed the nineteenth century world of Jane Eyre to the modern stage without losing the emotional force of this beloved story. This version has been hailed as “The most complete adaptation of the classic novel ever staged, compelling and dramatic as the story itself”. Orphaned at an early age, Jane Eyre leads a lonely life until she finds work as a governess at Thornfield Hall, where she meets the mysterious Mr Rochester and falls in love. And then the revelation – when Jane and Rochester are at the altar – that he is already married; her hasty departure from Thornfield Hall; and their eventual reunion. This is the most complete adaptation of the classic novel about a penniless and unloved girl ever staged: ‘compelling and dramatic’.
