Good friends Betty and Vic arrive for henry's birthday dinner to find his wife Jean is frantic because Henry is late. When he eventuall arrives he wants to emigrate immediately, with good reason, because he has found the briefcase he picked up accidentally on the train home is stuffed with money, almost three quarters of a million pounds. When two visitors arrive, saying they are police inspectors, Henry, Vic, Betty and a not so sober Jean are forced into a franticgame of cat and mouse, and hilarious innuendo and cruelly funny turns of fate ensue, as the two couples assume various identities in their battle to keep the money.
