Adapted & Directed by Jamie Richards

It is with great anticipation that the combined Year 11 and 12 Drama class presents their 2016 Major Production performance – DNA – written by Dennis Kelly, and adapted and directed by Jamie Richards. This production features dark, yet relevant themes, including morality, bullying, responsibility, and gang mentality – each exploring the means of humanity.

When a bullying incident elevates, a group of teenagers are determined to mask the event with a seemingly simple lie. However, when the unforeseen truth is exposed, the group finds themselves entangled in a web of unending fabrications now torn by the impact of reality. The group is left with two options – solve for the sake of one, or mask for the sake of everyone.

DNA prompts audiences to evaluate the ripple effect of a simple lie, highlighting how the mind of one has the power to influence the actions of many. This production engages viewers by challenging them to reflect on their response to the protection of either the individual, or the whole group.
