Written By: Louis Nowra
Directed By: nicolaas voorendt

Set during the Vietnam War dissension in Melbourne, a university graduate is invited to produce a play inside a mental institution in order to bring the 'patients' out of themselves. The concept is hijacked by Roy, one of the patients, who 'persuades' the graduate to produce Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte as an opera in Italian, a seemingly impossible task since none can sing let alone speak Italian. Despite fires, conflicts, chaos and hilarity, the graduate and his mentally disturbed cast manage to 'put on a show' with some very delightful outcomes. The dichotomy between the mental patients and the outside world is embellished during the play by the divisiveness of the Vietnam War, the sometimes hostile conflicts between hospital patients and Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte's themes of love, fidelity and betrayal.
