CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
Tea Tree Players
Tea Tree Players Theatre

Other

Written by Roald Dahl and adapted by Richard George
Directed By: Danni Fulcher

This adaptation by Richard George depicts Charlie Bucket, his parents and four grandparents living in a small house and they are poor, hungry, cold and in dire straits. In the neighbourhood is the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory and there is a competition where Mr Wonka opens the factory to five lucky children who can find a Golden Ticket in a chocolate bar. What happens then is exactly in the style of all Dahl's books, where goodness is rewarded and meanness/selfishness are punished, often in comically grotesque ways.
