Review by Tony Busch

Guy Masterson’s Centre for International Theatre presents another superb one-man show, this one starring Nicholas Collett.

Collett is totally engaging as he slides effortlessly between accents, genders and physicalities to bring to life the story of Peter Walker, Spitfire pilot and Battle of Britain survivor, who must face his biggest challenge when an uninvited visitor disturbs his orderly life at the Silver Birches retirement home.

It’s a wonderful story played across 60 years of an eventful life, from the dangers and glories of battles past, through family tragedy to the difficulties of present day relationships. It’s warm, sad, funny and hugely entertaining.

It appears anything under the C.I.T. banner is 24 carat, this one definitely so. Go out of your way to catch this very satisfying hour of great theatre.
