Singing, dancing, acrobatics, magic, ducks, a bearded lady; Smoke and Mirrors has just about everything you could ask for in a cabaret show - and more if you're fond of people in bunny suits.

Under Craig Ilott's direction and led by the captivating performer/co-creator iOTA as a sultry, white-faced MC strongly reminiscent of one Dr Frank-N-Furter, the audience is treated to a succession of acts. Magician Timothy Woon wows with sleight-of-hand, Queenie van de Zandt sings up a storm, Todd McKenney sings and taps his heart out, and Chelsea McGuffin and a trio of acrobats from ThisSideUp silence an awestruck audience with their displays of physicality. All are backed by an exceptional four-piece band who provide a wide range of accompaniment - all the way from gentle acoustic for the quieter songs through to high energy rock for the wilder segments.

Despite the multitude of talent on display, it is iOTA who stands out; his unceasing energy, showmanship and the wide range of songs - from the bawdy singalong number to the heartbreaking songs he sings (including one as an aged rabbit; yes, an aged rabbit - he even has a cane) throughout the show - are nothing short of awe-inspiring.

Dark, dirty, funny, sexy, powerful and absolutely captivating.
