Review by Tony Busch

Kath Perry has created another pastiche show similar to last Fringe’s “Shakespeare’s Mothers”. This one features his queens, including Goneril and Reagan from Lear; Gertrude from Hamlet; Titania from Midsummer Night’s Dream; Lady MacBeth and queens from Henry V, Henry VI, Richard III, Henry VIII and more.

Kath Perry starts as Elizabeth I with Roz Riley as Mary Queen of Scots and Patrick Trumper as the bard himself, and all three play the necessary roles in various scenes from the plays.

The excerpts are well done and there is some nice bridging banter between Elizabeth and Mary to tie it all together.

A thoroughly enjoyable way to explore Shakespeare and a great hour of entertainment.
