IN SEARCH OF ATLANTIS The Austral Hotel Until 07 Mar 2010 Review by Jamie Wright Friends Ky and Tim have found the Amulet of Paragon, which they believe will lead them to the lost cityof Atlantis. Will they make it? A musical comedy act in the vein of Tripod, Flight of the Conchords and Tenacious D, Ky (the one withthe mandolin) and Tim (the one with the guitar) display superb singer/songwriting and comic talent inthe hour-long show; folk-rock songs are interspersed with laugh-out-loud comic scenes featuring a bevyof wacky characters - including a charmingly racist historian, a depraved Egyptian merchant andseveral arrogant, keyboard-wielding Atlanteans. While a couple of the songs could be a verse or two shorter and the shifting back and forth betweencharacters wasn't always clear – perhaps a few props/costumes would help – these are really only minorflaws; it’s a laugh-out-loud, funny show by two very talented guys.
