Review by Janice Bailey

Presented at the 2019 Adelaide Fringe Festival

The Safety House Variety Showcase presented a line-up of diverse performers providing a taste of their full show. Host Lisa Skye with her big personality, glitter and cheeky banter kept the show moving. Laurie Black’s ‘Space Cadette’ was charming as she explained how she plans to head into space to become the first woman to set foot on the moon.

‘Leather Lungs’ was the most risqué – with an amazing voice and huge stage presence. His show can be found at Gluttony in Rymill Park until 3 March. Improv artists Men with Coconuts were hilarious, offering a polished and fun performance. You can find them at the National Wine Centre until 1st March.

The Variety Showcase is presented with a rotating line-up of the Festival’s most diverse acts and is a good way to get a taste of something different.
