HOT PINK BITS RIDES AGAIN Penny Ashton Pastry Bakery - The Old Balfours Pie Factory Until 16 Mar 2008 Review by Brian Godfrey “Hot Pink Bits Rides Again” is Adult’s Only comedy at its very best. This show is hot, horny and hilarious. It is the funniest show this reviewer has seen so far in the Fringe. New Zealand’s greatest invention, Penny Ashton, talks, sings and dances her audience through a burlesque-style guided tour of the world’s sex industry. All the old favourites are there: porn, discipline, bondage, fetishism, flagellation and more that you have probably never heard of! Ashton has fun with us and makes sure we have fun with her. She is a ‘mistress’ at working the audience. There are games to be played, porn movies to be made and strippers to be wolf-whistled at. Her versions of well known songs are fantastic. “My Favourite Things” from “Sound of Music” will never be the same again – guaranteed. It needs to be noted that Miss Ashton has done her homework. The show has been very well researched and her knowledge of the local scene is quite impressive. If you are eighteen and over - this show has been rated 18+ - want a good laugh and are not in anyway prudish; this is a show for you. Rating: 5 stars (out of 5)
