Nostalgia is such a wonderful thing. It allows people to remember times that made them laugh and smile, but also empowers them to acknowledge a mistake of regret but to own it.
Dillie Keane has done this as she serenades an audience of loyal fans of her body of work including musical Cabaret act Fascinating Aïda.

Keane is a delightful diva whose hips and knees that don't quite keep up with her these days. Whist this sweet lady may seem innocent, she quickly lets the audience know that she is and always has been able to live life to the fullest.

Keane sings a range of songs about love and the trials and tribulations it brings. Her songs cover topics from affairs, to wanting to be a lesbian and each produces rolls of laughter and joy from the audience. A particular highlight was Keane’s tribute to a woman named Pam who has seduced her husband. Her comedic chops are in fine form as she berates Pam in the most charming ways before tearing her to shreds.

Keane's voice has a husky earthiness to it and further adds credibility to her stories that are being laid bare to the audience. She has a complete sense of professionalism and is perfectly at home strutting her stuff on the stage and even managed to hop up onto the piano, not once but twice in one evening.

It is great that Keane has come to share her fun campy brand of cabaret here in Adelaide this festival season.
