Review by Janice Bailey

“Abomination” is Josh Mensch’s debut solo outing, which is a confronting experience for any performer. Standing alone in front of a small close-up audience in a very small space is not an easy gig for any performer. I have great admiration for creative people who need to share their ideas and feelings and have the intestinal fortitude to do something about it. It takes a lot of courage.

Josh clearly has acting experience and he has plenty of ideas to share with those who will listen. For me, the content of this debut show was too cerebral and would be better classified as ‘black’ comedy. There were not many light moments which meant that I didn’t engage with many of the characters Josh presented, even though his portrayal was honest and real.
