@SHAKESPEARE.COM Bakehouse Theatre Until 26 Feb 2011 Review by Jamie Wright There are many things you can do with Shakespeare, but if that includes having a time-travelling robotbring the Bard to the present day to rewrite his works for Gen-Y, you really need to do a better job of itthan the mess presented by the people responsible for ‘@Shakespeare.com’. Muddled, incoherent, under-rehearsed and poorly acted, it does touch on one or two interesting ideasabout the role of social media in today’s society – likening the slandering of Hero in ‘Much Ado AboutNothing’ to modern-day cyberbullying for example – but these concepts aren’t sufficiently developed andare buried under the distracting chaos. Given the potential for a clever and interesting examination, this was a real disappointment. Rating: 1 star (out of 5)
