SYTE creates opportunities for young people to acknowledge and enhance both themselves and their contribution to society through participation in cultural and performing arts experiences for life.

SYTE provides opportunities for personal and community development through the respectful collaboration between young people, our community and professional theatre practitioners.

SYTE members are empowered members of our community and broader society through the creation of powerful projects and productions that provide young people with a voice and a choice.

SYTE continues to work proactively to instill pride, energy and enthusiasm in our members through challenging and relevant experiences. We work to raise the profile of young people in a positive way by demonstrating the abilities and capabilities of young people to the wider community. We believe in seeking partnerships from within our community that provide ongoing developmental opportunities for the company and further the profile of young people; and strive for artistic excellence in all aspects of youth theatre by creating original processes and productions built on the ethos of the ensemble.

SYTE is committed to programming a diverse and accessible workshop and performance program that continues to provide innovative theatrical and life skills to all young people in the southern suburbs of Adelaide; and ensuring the involvement and contribution of young people in all aspects of the organisation through consultation, feedback, representation and evaluation. We reinforce our commitment to existing members through the provision of relevant, stimulating and accelerated theatre experiences; increasing SYTE’s profile in the local and wider community by showcasing the abilities of young people, and developing and maintaining mutually beneficial community based relationships; and consistently recognising the value of both process and product and to strive for artistic excellence in all that we undertake.

SYTE Annual Program is created by participants and members, professional and emerging professional theatre practitioners; envisioned and overseen by Members, the Artistic Director, The PM’s Cabinet and the Artistic Advisory Panel. Shows are promoted, ‘talked up’ and taken to the people by the Creative Director, General Manager, Artistic Advisory Panel, Board of Management and Members. We respond to the needs of the community and the young people of the Onkaparinga and Adelaide’s southern ‘urban Edge’ suburbs; and governed by the Pm’s Cabinet and the Board of Management.
